VISGUEIRO TRAIL
Within a small patch of preserved Atlantic Forest, the Visgueiro TrailLocated just 18 km from the Areias Belas Hotel, the reserve is home to a large visgueiro tree – a typical Atlantic Forest tree – with over 500 years of history. In addition to this, the reserve shelters various native species and smaller visgueiro trees, some just over 100 years old.
The trail starts at the Associação Mulheres de Fibras (Women of Fibers Association). The walk is accompanied by a local guide and is 6 km long. During the approximately 2-hour hike, visitors can stop to admire the scenery and take a dip in the natural spring.
